Monthly chanting & kirtan

2nd Friday of every month 6:30pm-7:30pm

Join us every month for this wonderful heart opening practice.  No chanting or singing experience is necessary, everyone is welcome.  This is an opportunity to experience one of the more profound aspects of yoga - whether you chant or quietly enjoy the vibrations around you.

Yoga foundations workshop

A 3 hour workshop introducing you to the essential foundations of a healthy, sustainable yoga practice.  

Designed specifically for the absolute beginner, this short introduction aims to show you that yoga is accessible to anyone and just how easy it can be to bring yoga into your everyday life.

The group size is kept small to ensure plenty of space for questions and personalised guidance.

The cost of this workshop includes one free class from the studio timetable after the event (*the free class is valid for use up to 1 month after the date of the workshop).

Pranayama Foundations workshop

$25 per person

Breath is life, without it we wouldn't last long!  Conscious breath, however is a life lived to its true potential!

By learning to consciously influence our breath through a regular practice of pranayama we can discover a deep sense of calm, greater vitality, mental clarity and deeper self-understanding.  Pranayama is also an important step towards deeper meditation.

In this workshop we will introduce you to the concept of prana (life-force) and the practice of pranayama (extension of life-force).  We will begin by bringing your awareness to how you breathe.  You will then learn some techniques that can help you to calm your mind, reduce stress and anxiety and build energy and vitality.

There will be a short asana (postural movement) practice at the start of the workshop to prepare the body for the practices so please wear comfortable clothing.

This workshop is perfect for beginners to yoga and can provide depth to the practice of those with more experience.

Meditation Foundations workshop

Our brains are constantly working, thinking, imagining, often unconsciously as we go about our busy days.  What if you could slow the stream of thoughts down so you could actually hear the important stuff amongst all the noise?

Working with the breath and specific techniques to create focus and concentration (Dhyana) can make this happen, and so much more!

In this workshop we will discuss what meditation is (and what it is not) and learn how to prepare our bodies to sit for meditation.  

We will then go through some simple techniques  that you can use daily to help bring about this state of calm and quiet in your mind.  You never know, you may even reach Samadhi!

The workshop will end with a 30 minute Yoga Nidra (deep relaxation) to send you floating out the door.

Perfect for beginners to yoga and can provide depth to the practice of those with more experience.

Do you want to connect more with your body but aren’t sure how to get started?  Are you nervous about going to your first yoga class?

Curvy Yoga® is a body affirming practice for people of all shapes and sizes.  Karen will take you through this 5-week series, during which you will explore your relationship with your body and help you learn how to meet its needs, exactly as it is today.  

The Curvy Yoga® Series consists of a 2 and a half hour workshop followed by four 1 hour classes.  The workshop will include:

  • Yoga practice

  • Pranayama (breath work)

  • Guided meditation

  • Journaling

  • Group discussion

Each week after the workshop, for 4 weeks, we will get together for a further one hour class to practice poses, meditate and share our experiences.

Show yourself some kindness and meet us on the mat!

Beginners are welcome; no Yoga experience or flexibility is necessary and there will be no headstands, handstands, legs over the head or splits in this workshop!
